The Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic is an annual event held in Windsor, California. Gates open at 5:15am to allow spectators to witness the unloading of the Dawn Patrol balloons, their inflation and their glowing display when the burners are fired.

The three Dawn Patrol balloons were (left to right) Larry Seller's L'escalter, April Turner's Aurora Australis and Steve Turner's Blue Skies.

After the stunningly beautiful glow burn, the three took to the skies, the first time in four years the weather has cooperated to do so (previous years had too much fog to permit liftoff).
